Starting a fitness journey can be a daunting task for so many people, but it’s an essential step towards a healthier and happier life. Whether you’re trying to lose weight, gain muscle, or you’re just looking to improve your overall health, the key to success is consistency.

Here are my tips to help you get started on your fitness journey.

Set realistic goals

Before you start your fitness journey, it’s important to set realistic goals. This could be losing a certain amount of weight, running a certain distance, or being able to do a certain number of press ups. This gives you something to aim towards, and a measurement to track your progress.

Create a plan

Once you have set your goals, you need to create a plan to achieve them and keep you on track. The plan will include your proposed workout routine and a healthy meal plan. It’s essential to make your plan as specific as possible so that you know exactly what you need to do to reach your goals.

Find a workout you enjoy

The key to sticking to your fitness journey is to find an activity that you enjoy. Whether cardio or weightlifting, it will be easier to get motivated to come into the gym if you like the workouts you’re planning on doing.

Be consistent

Consistency is key when it comes to fitness. It’s essential to stick to your plan and work out regularly. If you do miss a day or two, don’t let that discourage you, you can get back on track and keep moving forward.

Track your progress

Keeping track of your progress is an important part of staying motivated towards your goals. I will take measurements before our first session, and I will ask you to take your own photo so that you can refer to these at certain milestones along the way. You don’t always feel like a lot had changed over the course of 6, 8, or 12 weeks, but you will probably look and feel a lot different, and the photos and measurements can be proof of that.

Starting a fitness journey is a big step, but it’s one that can have a significant impact on your overall health and well-being. We can set realistic goals, create a plan, find an activity you enjoy, be consistent, and track your progress.
